June Reading List

Jun 6, 2012

Good morning!

I don't know where yesterday went.  Woke up, had my cup of tea, worked, fed my brother, cleaned the house, ran errands with mom, did my yoga, had dinner, read my book, went to bed. A few other things in between, but there really aren't enough hours in the day.

Anyways, I wanted to share some of the books that I've been reading lately! I've always been a 'reader', but I found during school that I just couldn't be bothered picking up a book to read for pleasure after reading so much bleh stuff for my classes. Now that school is done though, I've been making an effort to read more. Here's what is on my nightstand this month:

One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp, This one is currently on it's way to my nightstand and I'm quite excited to start it! Have heard only good things from several real life and blog friends (Steph, Sarah and Michaela especially!)

Grace for the Good Girl by Emily P. Freeman, I was given this book by a friend and have just started it in the past few days so I can follow along with the summer book club Emily is running. I'm a few chapters in and I can tell this is going to be a good one. I love the message behind this book and I'm really looking forward to working my way through it with the author.

Cure for the Common Life by Max Lucado, I received this one 4 or 5 years ago, before I started university. I read a few chapters back then and enjoyed it, but at the time I knew where the next 4 years of my life were going so I put it down. Now having finished school, I find myself at that crossroads looking for the right path to take. I'm almost done this one and have enjoyed the insights it has provided. It seems strange, but I feel like doing what you want to be doing because you love doing it is almost frowned upon in favour of jobs that provide other things. Do you know what I mean? I want to do something meaningful with the skill set I've been given because I want to fulfill my purpose and enjoy what I do. I'm still in the process of figuring out what that is, but I'll let you know when I find it :)

The fourth spot is empty because I want some recommendations from you! Fiction, non-fiction - doesn't matter to me! - what book(s) are you loving right now??

Silver & Gold

Good evening!

I've heard this quote since childhood, but I think it's only truly appreciated as we grow older. I had the most lovely chat tonight with a girl I've known since kindergarten.

We've grown apart over the years as schools and cities separated us, but it was so lovely to reconnect and I hope we can stay in touch. The years disappeared as we talked about old elementary school friends and mutual friends in highschool. I'm already looking forward to our next chat :)

Hope you all had a lovely start to the week!!

Good evening!

I came across this print on Pinterest this week and thought it was perfect inspiration for the weekend. Or the summer. Or whatever period of life you're currently entering!

The Beauty by Zach Terrell on Society 6
I think this print needs to find it's way home with me sometime soon :)

Here's to a beautiful weekend!
