When Julep reached out about collaborating on a Halloween nail look, I wasn't sure what I could offer. Orange is not my colour, my nail art skills almost always involve tape, and Halloween isn't usually a holiday that I get excited about (other than the chocolate of course ;) But I liked the idea of the challenge and wanted to create something more elegant & glitzy. The idea of an shimmery, purple-y bronze, starry night mani came to mind - kind of witch-y and kind of night-time/midnight, so the 'witching hour' theme seemed perfect.
Thankfully the team at Julep loved the idea and sent over a few products to help with the look. I ended up using 13 different polishes (an appropriate number for a Halloween look) which included: Bonnie, Penny, Janae, Sharna, Gabrielle, Jane, Shailene, Sawyer, Soleil, Shari, Zelda, Fiore & Alaina. (several of which I already owned - I think I might have a nail polish problem? Just a hunch... ;)
I choose to do every nail with a different pattern to keep things interesting. Some of the nails have similar looks (the 'V' or the half moon) but I kept the colours different so it wouldn't be a true repeat. I loosely interpreted the 'V' to be like a witch's hat, the half moon as the moon, the glitter nails to be like starry skies and the rest just nicely accented the whole look.
I'm still in love with how the whole look turned out and kind of want to recreate it for this weekend. (I do have Alaina on my nails already ;) What's on your nails for Halloween this year?
