My Trip to Scotland

Within days of finishing my last high school exam, I was boarding a plane to Scotland. Glasgow to be precise. I was traveling with my BFF, her mom and her younger brother. (Her family lived in the UK before she moved to Canada about 10 years ago, so they were visiting family and friends while we were there.)

We stayed with her grandparents for a portion of the trip, and at a campground in Wales for the other portion. I was there for about 2 weeks, with 5 of the days being spent in Wales and the rest just outside of Edinburgh.

I loved every minute of it! The food, the people, the shopping, the scenery - it was all so much fun! It's crazy how different everything is, mostly good different, but some bad :P The chocolate is ridiculously better over there than it is here! If you don't believe me, find your nearest UK import store and buy a bar of Cadbury's milk chocolate. You can thank me later :)

Most of my shopping was done around Edinburgh; a local mall, a massive outlet mall, and downtown Edinburgh were the main places. River Island, Next, Oasis, Warehouse & Top Shop (of course!) were some of my favourite  clothing stores. (I'm probably missing several others...) M&S is just amazing. It's basically like a Walmart Superstore, but so. much. better. They had this lemonade or apple cider drink thing that was so delicious! And their in-store cafe had a pretty awesome bacon butty :D

We didn't do too many tourist-y things, mainly just lots of shopping haha But we did go to the Forth Rail & Road bridges. This is the Road Bridge below, with the Rail Bridge just behind where I was standing to take the photo. Isn't that a gorgeous sunset? We went to this really cute little restaurant right by here for my friend's 16th birthday :)

Off to Wales we went! And we saw many many sheep on the way haha We were positive we could hear them at night when we were going to sleep! The gorgeous-ness of Wales is hard to describe, so here's one of the photos I took from nearby where we were staying.

Back to the UK for our final few days, we went up to North Berwick and had a picnic lunch :)

I can't believe it's been almost 3 years since I've been there. I might be going back in 2012, but the Olympics in London may put a stop to that...we'll have to see.

I would move over there in a second if I could. It may happen yet, just have to finish school first!

Have any of you been over there? Where in the UK did you go? I didn't get to spend any time in England, but I would love to go! Any recommendations for must-visit places?

Hope you have a lovely day!
