Weekend Reading

Happy Friday! How was your week? Mine was pretty good :) My best friend is home from the UK for Christmas!! We're meeting up for dinner tomorrow night to celebrate my mom's birthday and I'm tagging along to her wedding dress shopping appointments next week (this is the friend I'm throwing the shower for!) so that will be really fun!

I haven't done a roundup of links in a little while, and there's a few posts recently that have stood out to me:

Terminal Cancer Wasn't In My Plans - so heartbreaking and yet she is so positive & inspiring.

+ I've been trying to implement new schedules & goals for my work days, and Lara's post on how she gets things done is really fascinating (I've told you I love behind-the-scenes stuff, right?)

How to Write an Irresistible About Page - need/want to rework mine!

Why Wedding Photograher's Prices Are "Wack" - I don't know if I agree 100% with everything said in the article, but I think it's a really important perspective to keep in mind when looking at hiring a creative professional in any field, whether design, photography, art, etc.

+ Sara is one of my past clients that's turned into a friend, and watching her go from planning to launching her new wedding business, Top Knot Events, has been really inspiring! You can read more about her journey on Saige Wisdom.

+ Kind of in keeping with the 'getting things done' link above, The Case for Having No Goals really spoke to me and re-emphasized a lot of the things Lara mentioned. How do you 'get things done'?

+ The best friend I mentioned above has chosen a dark hunter green for her wedding colour, and while I know she's not really into pink, I still adore the combination of emerald & pink!

+ I shared this post on Twitter, but Jen's post 'Holiday Decorating Using Chalk Ink' is too good not to share again!

+ Youth Groups Driving Christian Teens to Abandon Faith - Another post that I don't know if I agree with 100%, but it still fascinated me.

In case you missed it on the blog this week:
Mint + Ampersands
Holiday Party Planning
Post-Conference: 2 Month Check-In

And if you need a laugh this weekend, this should do the trick: 'Not My Arms' Challenge

Finally, a quote I saw online that took a minute to sink in: It is not abstinence from pleasures that is best, but mastery over them without being worsted. - Aristippus

Hope you have a lovely weekend!
